Introduction to Club Shooting - Induction Classes / Requirements and Recommendations for New Shooters

Induction Classes are an entry point for those wishing to try the sport of clay target shooting and for those returning to the sport.

The classes comprise:

  • The mandatory safety briefing;
  • Discussions on sound techniques; and
  • Supervised shooting.

The classes are aimed at encouraging people to become Club members and the mainly Saturday afternoon sessions are conducted in a friendly relaxed way. Anyone with less than an A grade competition grading will benefit from the session and it is an ideal starting point for novices, those wishing to develop their shooting skills and those who are looking for a fun sporting activity requiring precision in a fantastic Club environment.

The cost for a class session including targets, ammunition and equipment is usually $60.

Although children can legally shoot on the Club grounds from a minimum age of 12 years, depending on other factors, 14 years is usually a better time to start as any participant must be mentally and physically mature enough to comprehend and apply instructions and safely handle a gun in a precise way.

Review the Club's requirements and recommendations for new shooters. Shooting Requirements.
