Come and Try Days

Come and Try Days are an entry point for those wishing to try the sport of Clay Target Shooting and for those returning to the sport. The days are aimed at encouraging people to become Club members and those who are looking for a fun sporting activity requiring precision in a fantastic Club environment.

The days comprise:

  • The mandatory safety briefing;
  • Discussions on sound techniques; and
  • Supervised shooting with an instructor.

Although children can legally shoot on the Club grounds from a minimum age of 11 years, depending on other factors, 14 years is usually a better time to start as any participant must be mentally and physically mature enough to comprehend and apply instructions and safely handle a gun in a precise way.

Before attending please review the Club's requirements and recommendations for new shooters.

There are also requirements under the Weapons Act to ensure an unlicenced individual is permitted to attend and take part. Unlicenced attendees will be required to show Photo ID (Passport, Licence, School ID) to fill out and be compliant with the conditions on a Form 33 as Below.

Our Next Come and Try Day is Scheduled for Saturday 5th September 2026. If you wish to receive more information in regard to our next Come and Try, check out this page, look on our Facebook Page or contact us below as we will have more information available mid August.
